Trigonomic Ratios SOH/CAH/TOA

// trigonometry lesson #2

Hey y'all! loving the last post? learn anything new? GREAT! Here's another fun fact on trigonometry (ratios).

This maths class we learnt about the three trigonmetric ratios: SOH CAH TOA!! sound familiar? its not as complicated as it seems.

S = SINE
O = OPPOSITE
H = HYPOTENUSE

C = COSINE
A = ADJACENT
H = HYPOTENUSE

T = TANGENT
O = OPPOSITE
A = ADJACENT

Also! Here is a link of a rap song on trigonometry just to add "fun" to these "facts"

Once you get this technique and the way of SOH CAH TOA,  the blogs and facts from here on in will be a breeze!

Naming the Sides of Right Angled Triangles

// trigonometry lesson #1

Hey world! great to be on here! we're here share our lessons of maths class but in blog style!

We started off by going back to the basics! i mean who'd want to start with the hard stuff when you don't have a clue with what your dealing with right?

Our teacher Mr. Castro tought us firstly on how to name the sides of the a right-angled triangle, so basically the first things you would learn in pythagora's theorem. He used examples in our text book to explain how this process works.

NOTE: The hypotenuse is always opposite the right angle in a right-angled triangle and is the longest side. wherever the theta is placed, directly opposite is the opposite side and wherever the theta is, the adjacent side is the side next to the theta not the hypotenuse.

This here is a simple diagram of a right-angled triangle and its sides
